Hyack Christmas Parade of Lights

The parade starts at 4:00 pm SHARP & travels along Columbia St. between 4th & 8th St., ending up at Hyack Square (Beside the Keg).
Christmas in New Westminster is truly magical, and the Hyack Festival Association is proud to kick off the Christmas season each year with the Hyack Christmas Parade of Lights in downtown New Westminster. From bands playing Christmas music and marching quickly to keep warm, to floats featuring reindeer, elves, candy canes and toys, the parade is a swirl of colour and lights that is not to be missed.

Enjoy the boughs, red bows and all the other old-fashioned ornaments and decorations throughout the village and farmhouse. The season features traditional entertainment, demonstrations, hands-on activities and exhibits from the early 1900s. The daily craft is a popular with children as is a chat with Father Christmas. Complete each visit with a whirl on the C.W. Parker Carousel.

It provides a venue to showcase Shadbolt Centre for the Arts’ student performances in dance and music. Visitors will also enjoy a variety of popular hands-on opportunities, such as creating with clay and wreath-making. Spend time “creating” with your family and enjoy the special ambience of the season. Free.
